one-for-two with three RBI and scored one run in a 5-3 win over the
Milwaukee Brewers.

Cabrera hit his third home run of the season.

I've been viewing this group off and on for several years, and I'm just now
finally wondering, what is the freaking Rose award? If somebody wins this
award, do they get handed a flower, namely a Rose? Does the recipient even
know they've won the coveted Rose award? If not, doesn't that seem just a
tad silly? Finally, just what is the Rose award, exactly?

The Rose Award, named after Pete Rose, is issued to the player with
the best performance for the day. The Rose Committee, consisting of
both current and former players, is responsible for the award
issuance.

No other details will be given at this time.

I have noticed that the Rose award isn't very punctual in it's issuance.
Must be a bitch getting all the former and current MLBer members of this
prestigious organization to make their votes in a timely fasion, huh?! LOL

Thanks for a great laugh! ....consisting of both current and former players,
is responsible for the award issuance...... too funny!
