I realize that everone is wrapped up in the college scene, but some
states had the future college talents play this past weekend. Any chatter? Speaking for Tennessee, a lot of colleges are going to have some freshmen challenging juniors and seniors next year. If you want a 6'+ athlete that has been playing for 3 years, you should have been recruiting the Ooltewah high school team, stacked. The first non-USN team to win the title defeating Montgomery Bell Academy in the finals. USN over McCallie in the 3/4 game. good weekend of disc by all. |

Speaking of HS State Championships, John Jay HS (NY contender) still
has a long layoff between our last tourney and the state championships, which are Memorial Day weekend. Any teams (any level) looking to scrimmage? drop me an e-mail... |

Kind of random, but if anyone cares....
North Carolina: Jordan High School beats Page High School for the championship, Cardinal Gibbons over Chapel Hill High School in the 3/4 game (though I believe Gibbons may have been competing with some ineligble players...) Anyways, this region is showing great promise for young players entering the college scene. Page High School senior Eric Lieu (lighning quick Asian with good speed/hops and above average handling skills - great potential) will be heading off to either NC State or UNC next year; CHUF senior Brendan Bulik-Sulivan (good all around player, monster backhand huck) will be heading off to UC-Berkely in the fall; and Jordan High School senior Thomas Sayre-McCord (6'3, good throws, good decision making slash leadership) will be at Carolina for sure. Those are the big three I can think of, though there may be more (Kent Torrell?). |
