Yeah, the Pistons are good enough to win but they don't play with that fire... Now when I look over at the Celtics.... Those guys are DESPERATELY HUNGRY for it. If we get to the ECF and meet the C's we're going to have to be just as desperate. And Flip needs to come A LOT faster with his adjustments... |

If the Pistons play like they did last night, they can beat the Celtics, Spurs, or anyone else. The obvious question is, can they/ will they? The jury is still out. I'm happy about last night's game, disappointed that Detroit is the only "favored" team not to be up 2-0, still feeling that this year's team is better than last year's, and still worried about Boston. One thing I took away from last night's game: when McDyess is making those open, medium-range shots, it REALLY helps Detroit's offense. Same for Tayshaun driving aggressively to the hoop. -- Joe |

Tayshaun and McDyess finally contributed and Rip put in his usual numbers as well. Only Chauncey was below average although he did come on in the third and they didn't really need him to score. What we saw last night is the way every game should go. Oddly, Pistons took their starters out in the third while Boston left their guys in until 5:40 to go in the fourth and a 20 point lead. Did Doc Rivers really think the Hawks were going to come back on them or does he have no faith in his bench? Interesting. You have to consider the lop sided victory over the 76ers was simply a
lay down by Phili. They got what they wanted which was "one" win in Detroit. They didn't play with the same fire they instigated in game one. Now look at game three! Beat our ass by twenty points because of Chauncy Billups not believing this game to be nba life threatening. |

Man Arrested Setting Fire Inside Parked Car Metro officers responded to Downtown early yesterday morning for a man setting a fire inside a car. The victim observed 49-year-old Brian Matthews enter his parked car, light some napkins on fire and then get out of the car and lock the doors. The small fire burned a hole in the drivers seat and eventually burned itself out. Matthews was placed under arrest.
