This team is so painful to watch that I might have to stop. It seems that
going 3-4 innings without a base hit against a no-name pitcher is nothing unusual. Meanwhile, 3 out of 5 days, you've got a starting pitcher throwing a very good game and giving you a very good chance to win. They'd be 5 games over .500 if they could only hit. Of course, these poorly structured lineups aren't helping. |

My first thought, is they suck pretty bad right now, so what are ya gonna do? Wait it out, I guess. Jeff |

maybe U ought to look at the 3 spot in the line-up.
every one tonite has at least 2 hits. Griffey is 0 for. Lets see - last nite 0 for tough to get runs when your middle of line-up is 0 for. Wait - Griffey hits a double (score of course is 10-5). 2 days ago - down 2 runs in ninth inning but Griffey had to swing for fence - any real baseball player would have gotten on base with a 3-1 count and ball 4 serve to them - not Griffey though - 'he's the man' When griffey is off this team - the REDS will get to the playoffs. This guy is a one man wrecking crew. This team can't hit worth a crap! Don't worry, the Reds are owned by Duncan and Pujols. |

(Although many teams are worse at any given spot) The number 5 spot is weird. Number 7 is of course mostly Votto and a) he probably won't stay at this level and b) won't bat 7th And if there's one thing Paul Bako has established it's that his current stats aren't an ability. Mind you, Griffey would be disappointed with those numbers and Bako would sign for the numbers Griffey has put up, so the combination of the two leaves room for more despite Bako having the hot streak of his career. |
