Released by the Blue Jays today. There's a hack on local radio saying the
Reds should pick him up so they have right handed pop. Says he should play
3 days a week at 1B and platoon with Votto.

Can this guy still play D?

Even when he could still play D, he really couldn't play D. That
aside, the reason for Thomas's outburst was because he didn't want to
be a part-timer - he certainly isn't looking to be a NL bench player.
Not that I'd expect our local radio hacks to consider this.

I don't know what radio hack the original poster is talking about
but Doc Rogers had the topic after today's game and was asking
the callers what they thought. Doc finally came out with his opinion
and said he was not in favor of it. He thinks young players need
to play and not platoon.
