TORONTO (AP)-Blue Jays designated hitter Frank Thomas was livid Saturday
after getting benched in favor of Matt Stairs and being told by manager John Gibbons he can expect further cuts to his playing time. Thomas was hitless in his past 13 at-bats and has gone 4-for-35 since homering in three straight games April 5-8. I'm not a big Thome fan, too may ko's, but I can't even imagine him whinning like Thomas over playing time. |

(Though I'm in favor of letting Ramirez into the oufield, Swisher to 1B, and using Paulie as the DH against the occasional lefty). |

I agree letting Thome set more against lefties plus he's available to pinch
hit and if not Ramirez, then Anderson and/or Owens if we find a place for him on the roster.
