Default Go Cubs Go

Prospects are certainly looking better for the Cubs despite
losing their highest paid player for at least 15 days. The team
is really hitting well and hopefully the pitching and defense
will improve to the level of last year's squad.

I know that some people are dissing the Cubs by saying that half
their wins are against one terrible team, the Pirates. Yes, that
is true, but you have to give the Cubs credit for beating a team
they are expected to defeat. Many teams have fallen into the
trap of playing down to the level of competition, but so far the
Cubs have not done that.

They are also winning a majority of the close and extra-inning
games so far this season. Will this trend continue for the
remainder of the season? Time will tell, but it is certainly
looking like it will be a fun summer at the Friendly Confines.

As Eric alludes to in a later post, the "way" they are winning makes it a
pleasure to watch. Their approach at the plate has been nothing short of
unbelievable. Who would have thought a Cub team would lead the league in
pitches per plate appearance?

Sure it's even better when your team wins, but when your team wins the right
way, it's all the more satisfying to watch.
