Default Interview with James Toney

I recently had a chance to speak with James Toney. He was looking
good and poised for a comeback this summer. I posted it to
XLFights.com - check it out.

Hilariously delusional, Toney really is a funny guy. A guy who's
rarely in shape for a fight has no business making any claims.

No doubt. The big question is his conditioning. Can he get himself
motivated to come into a fight in shape. I think Toney has relied so
much on his talent throughout his career that he has been able to get
by, but he can't do that anymore at 39. Also, given he is smaller
than most heavyweights, he has to give himself every chance to win,
and conditioning is so essential.

James has also lost a little something in the power department.
Still, Boxing has done him dirty.

The dude got suspended twice for steroids! What a disgrace,
especially the first time since it meant it voided his victory over
John Ruiz and gave the heavyweight title back to the most boring
fighter in history.
