Hi Bird fans..... I'll be in the D.C. area next month and would like to
catch an Orioles game. Anyone in this NG have any suggestions or "tips' on routes to use from DC to the Yard and where to park.(or maybe,NOT to park). Thanks for any help that you could provide. R. P.S. Thanks for thumping those classless Yankees tonight!! |

From DC, come straight up the Baltimore Washington Parkway (295) and it will bring you right into downtown, right by the stadium. You may have to wonder around a bit to find a parking garage but shouldn't be a problem. Maybe someone else has an insight on a good place to park. I use the light rail so I never drive my car in. Enjoy the game. On Fri, 18 Apr 2008 23:55:08 -0400, papagram1@webtv.net (Ralph) wrote: >Hi Bird fans..... I'll be in the D.C. area next month and would like to >catch an Orioles game. Thanks for thumping those classless Yankees tonight!! Actually, from DC, what I *usually* do is catch the Metro to the Greenbelt (I believe, best to check my memory) station and catch the (Amtrak? I think it's them) train to the stadium. If it's a night game, which runs after the trains stop, they bus you back to Union Station, right in downtown DC and an easy cab ride even to the suburbs where I live. For 3 of us (me and my two sons), the cost is about the same as driving and parking. If you *do* want to drive and have the minimum hour-long drive after the game, the stadium parking has always worked for me. GLS's route is the best, although you can also come up 95 and follow the (abundant) signs to the stadium. You may have to park over by the Raven's stadium (which I had to the last 2 times I drove up), but they're in the same complex, so it's only about a 5 minute walk. ald reply via email to ald_007_1999 at yahoo dot com |
