This team is full of optimistic, unproven kids, over-the-hill greybeards, broken-down old warhorses, and one or two legitimate major leaguers. And you mock their longest winning streak of the season? What a tough crowd!! Our warriors have given us a whole week to remember, and you're raining on their nice little parade. In June, long after the team has been mathematically eliminated from the pennant race, you will look back at this past week and hate yourselves for beign so jaded. Cheers Mitch Edelman |

And then Millar will put a paper bag full of sh** in their locker. It's the natural progression of things. > In June, long after the team has been mathematically eliminated from the > pennant race, you will look back at this past week and hate yourselves > for beign so jaded. That's optimism!! > DUDE! I said "long after the team has been ... eliminated"... They stand about as much chance of being alive in the pennant race in June as Tiger's winning the 2008 Grand Slam of Golf (or the way they're playing, of the Tigers winning the AL Central). Changes of Topic: a) will either Gibbons or Steroid Barry get any ML ab's this year? b) How long before the LA fans get on Torre's case? c) How long before Jeter winds up playing 1b or LF? d) Will Jim Leland be the first manager to be canned this year? or, if you really want to go OT - who's winning in Pennsylavania next Tuesday? Can Ron Paul stop the McCain Inevitable?? Does anyone really GAF?? Cheers, Mitch Edelman |

I figured that the phrase "long after the team has been mathematically eliminated from the pennant race" by mid-May ![]() > Changes of Topic: > a) will either Gibbons or Steroid Barry get any ML ab's this year? I can see Gibbons getting a minor league contract somewhere, someone will probably take a chance on him as a rehab project. I don't see any NL teams picking up Bonds, maybe an AL team with plenty of money to burn and a need for a DH? If Ortiz never gets back on track, would the Red Sox take a chance on him? > b) How long before the LA fans get on Torre's case? I'm not that familiar with LA fans, are they as hardnosed as NY fans? > c) How long before Jeter winds up playing 1b or LF? Never. Jeter will play SS even until long after its evident that he needs to be put out to pasture. With A-Rod at 3b, he won't even do the Ripken thing and change position. > d) Will Jim Leland be the first manager to be canned this year? > Depends on if they right the ship. As I heard on the radio today, no 0-7 team has ever made the playoffs, but plenty of 4-10 teams have. > or, if you really want to go OT - who's winning in Pennsylavania > next Tuesday? Clinton. The real question is, will she win by single or double-digits? If she wins by only single-digits, than Obama can walk away from PA much more secure in his ability to capture the nomination at the convention (plus he'll have narrowed the margin in delegates won in the state). Clinton had a 20-point lead not too long ago, she should beat the snot of out him (especially with the hullabaloo about his "bitter" comments). Recent polling (those taken since the blowup) are showing that he's not taking a negative hit from the comments (he's even in the lead in the latest Indiana poll), but the polling also shows he's not moving in a positive direction, so maybe the comments and the firestorm they engendered have stopped any momentum he had. > Can Ron Paul stop the McCain Inevitable?? I don't think so. Another question - will there be a third candidate in this election? > Does anyone really GAF?? > This is like junk food to me ![]() |
