Default 6-1

Either my news service blows (GigaNews), or we've sunk to the point where
even a 6-1 start isn't worth talking about

we have been abducted to an alternate universe. There's no other explanation.

Next month, or next week, or maybe tomorrow, we will wake up and discover
that we once again have control of out TV sets - Aubrey Huff will be
batting .237 and the Sox and Yanks will be on a tear. Enjoy it while it
lasts!!!

Cheers,

Everyone's just waiting for the hammer to fall.

To quote my favorite Sci-Fi program - "This has all happened before, it will
happen again."

Well, I'm always happy to bait Hageman. Perhaps this is what happens when
you replace "veteran clubhouse leadership" with "raw scrappy youngsters"?

No, I refuse to believe such a thing! The O's are going all the way,
wire-to-wire!!

Normally, the season started with the hammer already in the fallen state.

Reading some of the interviews with the players, I'm seeing such
sentiments as "happy" and "having fun" and "wasn't at all like this last
year". I've long been an advocate of bringing in new, young blood into
this team, glad to see that at least it has started out well.

What do you think the chances are of this team going >.500?

Baiting Hageman is like taunting the dynamite monkey, hardly worth the
effort.

they may be going wire-to-wire, but who knows where? for my 2 cents' worth,
I will regard their season as a success if they get respectable performance
from the key pieces the team got for Miggy and Bedard.

*Small* problem with that, the Opening Day loss ;-) And that's not
even mentioning the travesty of the Red Sox playing 2 games (and going
..500) before the season really started.

Ok, so after losing the last two series' (although still in first
place), we can start talking now? ;-)
